Because even note-sharing apps need rules
We Respect Your Notes
Your notes are yours. We don't peek — unless your note says "Delete me after reading". In that case, we simply follow orders and remove it.
No Creepy Tracking
We are not interested in following you around the internet. Clipy only stores the minimum information required to deliver your note or file.
Custom Codes
You can choose your own code for your notes. Just avoid obvious ones like "1234". If someone else already grabbed your brilliant code idea, we'll politely let you know.
Self-Destructing Notes
If you enable "Delete after view", the note disappears immediately after being opened. Refresh the page and it will be gone. Think of it as the budget version of spy-movie self-destruct messages.
Encryption
All notes are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Even if someone accessed the database directly, the content would appear as unreadable scrambled text.
File Sharing
Files shared through Clipy are automatically deleted after 7 days. No backups are kept.
Why? Because Clipy runs on a very realistic budget: approximately zero dollars.
Keeping files forever would require expensive storage. Since Clipy is free to use, we clean things up regularly. If a file is important, download it before the 7-day timer sends it into the digital void.
Cookies
Clipy does not use tracking cookies. The only cookies you should worry about are the edible ones.
