How It Works

1. Write your note

Go to the “Add Note” page, type your message, and choose whether to delete it after one view for privacy.

2. Get your shareable link

Once you save your note, you’ll get a unique URL. Share it with anyone — no login required.

3. Notes are encrypted at rest

All notes are securely encrypted before being saved to the database. Even if someone gains access to the database, your note content remains protected.

4. View securely

Anyone with the link can view the note. If you enabled “Delete after view,” the note is permanently deleted after it’s read once.

5. Password Protection

Add an extra layer of security by setting a password. Only users who know the password can access the note. You can also enable “Delete after view” to make the note self-destruct immediately after being read — ensuring it can’t be accessed again.

6. Expiry Date

Set an expiration date for your note to automatically delete it after a specific day and time. This ensures sensitive information doesn’t stay online longer than intended — perfect for temporary access or time-limited sharing.

7. Self-Host or Deploy

Clipy is fully open-source — you can host it yourself or deploy it to your favorite platform like Vercel, Azure, or your own VPS. This gives you complete control over your data and privacy.
